History
KD Maskinfabrik was founded by master smith Kaj Dalgaard 19 December 1964 under the name Kaj Dalgaard`s Smede-& Maskinværksted (Kaj Dalgaard’s Smithy & Machine shop) in 100m2 rented premises on Ibæk Strandvej 1, Vejle, the company mainly offered small smith’s work for both private and small local businesses.

In 1978 on Ibæk Strandvej 9, Vejle, a new shop of about 600 m2 was built, it was expanded in 1992 with an additional assembly shop of about 300 m2 and in 1994 an additional 150 m2 were built for pickling of stainless steel. Today the 450 m2 belong to KD Industribejdsning ApS (KD Industry Pickling). In 1996 a pickling plant was established in Aalborg.

In 1999 the current domicile on Karetmagervej 25, Vejle, was bought and in 2000 the company moved into the 1770 m2 modern and efficient premises.

In 2003 the premises on Ibæk Strandvej 9 were sold to Vejle Harbour and subsequently rented.

In 2008 the production was expanded with a further 580 m2 of production and a showroom of about 150 m2, so the collective area will then be 2500 m2. The premises on Ibæk Strandvej are still rented primarily for production of forms and rotors.

Today KD Maskinfabrik is a company with a foundation consisting of three legs:
The first leg which constitutes about 10% of the total turnover is sub-supplier work where KD Maskinfabrik can contribute with a total concept comprising service, surface treatment, stock etc.
The second leg consists of machine equipment for the concrete industry including manufacture of moulds, systems and other things concerning production of pre-fabricated piling poles and constitutes about 30% of the total turnover.
The last leg consists of machine equipment for both council and industrial sewage treatment plants nationally and internationally.
